RoboRally Arena II http://webxxx.schlund.de/cgi-bin/pbeme.pl?game=roborall http://members.tripodnet.nl/Seedling/rrmap.html Competition 1 Round 2 TURN ONE PROGRAM CARDS ARE DUE: 0900 GMT, Monday, February 19. Recipiants: - All active 'bots in this round only. Contents: - Instructions. - Current 'bots and email addresses. - Current board. - Randomised list of program cards. - Options available at the end of the turn. - Notes. * Instructions. First look at the list of current 'bots to find your 'bot reference (ref) name (it is a four character (max) abbreviation of your 'bot name). Check your 'bot status, 'in waiting' means not active this round, 'active' means active this round and this turn, 'fragged' means active this round, but not this turn, 'retired' means active in a previous round, but never again. IF 'bot status is 'active' then find your 'bot location (x88x format) and go to the current board to find it. **NOTE: It is probably easier to see the game progress by having a physical board set up to keep track of movement. To find your program cards you need three things. Firstly the list of program cards, secondly the number of program cards to be dealt (see Current 'bots) and thirdly the program card code (to be sent seperately). This private code is a list of 20 numbered references. To find your current program cards look at your 'bots code numbers. It will be a list similar to: example code list 1-1 2-63 3-32 4-81 5-15 6-57 7-43 8-66 9-65 10-42 11-21 12-78 13-10 14-82 15-56 16-73 17-49 18-19 19-11 20-37 Find the number of cards that are to be dealt to your 'bot this turn (ie: nine for an undamaged 'bot with no options), The numbers before the hyphen (-) are to correspond with the number of cards to be dealt. So the nine (say) cards to be chosen from the list of program cards (as indicated by the number after the hyphen) are the first, the 63rd, the 32nd, the 81st, the 15th, the 57th, the 43rd, the 66th and the 65th. The program card list for turn one is available in this document. Choose an option from the list. Submit turn program and option choice in the format: X-88##() X-88##() X-88##() X-88##() X-88##() () () * Current 'bots 'bot (1) Tin Can - Description: cylindrical in shape (surprise surprise) making it hard to tell which way it's facing, decked out in a beautiful shade of rust, holes in its delicate body are a testament to attachments previously blown or ripped off. 'bot (2) Herbie - Description: This beetle-bot is the smartest 'bot of the factory and it will be very hard to destroy. It is brave, fast and not afraid of any damage. 'bot (3) Blighted - Description: Blighted always obeys Murphy's Law and so he doesn't have a high life expectancy! 'bot (4) Cliffhanger - Description: Trundlebot painted entirely black. 'bot (5) Petit Metal - Description: Formerly a frontline military sabotage droid, Petit Metal was 'relocated' after accidently blowing up a munitions depot.... on his own base. Military HQ suggested he could 'volunteer' to join the Tournament.... 'bot (6) gorilla - Description: This hairy little 'bot was the first of a botched attempt of a gene-splicing experiment involving a baby chimpanzee and a state-of-the-art Black-and-Decker cordless drill. 'bot (7) SQUIDBOT - Description: multi-limbed aquatic robot (adapted to factory work). Each highly flexible limb has a different tool to assist SquidBot in a multitude of tasks. Unfortunately, the aquarium he was employed at has closed down since the humpbacks whales went off into space with their brethren (Star Trek movie IV?). Squiddy (as he is known by his friends) has since been adapted to factory work (mostly cleaning, a horrific waste of an incredibly talented & versatile bot). Squiddy greatly looks forward to making a name for himself in the arena so that maybe he can land himself a job much better suited to his talents. 'bot (8) Scourge - Description: From the very depths of what robot minds fear most. A plasmoid laser pointed right at your processor array, and a shovel full of hate with your name all over it. Beware, lest that shrapnel your see all around you is actually your hind quarters. Each 'bot has its start location shown with 'bot reference and damage (0 at the moment) in the top line of the square and direction in the bottom line. Direction is indicated by four 'arrows' (east = >>>>, west = <<<<, south = vvvv and north = ^^^^). **NOTE: If there is any contradiction between the board and the table, the table is right. This is true for all situations, there is a table for each turn and all other 'bot information should agree with it or the other information is wrong.
